Shandelle's work currently is exploring the inner workings of the mind when being diagnosed with a heart condition. Using threads and yarns to describe and show how everything in the body is woven together from one thread (the heart). She is working on expressing the stages of accepting her condition. The works of her portfolio on Heart Strings: Process of accepting the daily unseen has been her way of connecting back to the world and accepting the heart condition. For after graduation work she plans to continue to work on heart strings and exploring crafts. She also has plans to contact hospitals and work with to create works based on patient data. To continue to recording time and the moments within it for others not just herself.
Shandelle is currently finishing up at the University of Cincinnati as a Graduate Assistant in the DAAP MFA program (graduation May 2nd, 2019) and holds a Bachelors in Broad Area Art from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (2014) and a Associates in Fine Art from Anoka Ramsey Community College-Minnesota (2011).
